Releasing Stuck Emotions and Traumas through Breathwork

Breathe Your Way to Peace

When was the last time you took a deep breath—one that filled your lungs completely and left you feeling at ease? In the midst of our busy lives, it's easy to forget the most essential tool we have at our disposal: our breath. Yet, the simple act of breathing can be a profound gateway to calm, clarity, and healing.

I was reminded of this recently during a conversation with my guest on the Radiate Health and Wellness Podcast, Natalia Rose. Natalia is a dedicated breath coach who shared how mindfulness breathing techniques have been her lifeline through some of the most challenging moments of her life. Whether it was the chaos of motherhood, the stresses we all face in daily life, or her most difficult journey—facing thyroid cancer—breathwork became her anchor.

Hearing her story made me reflect on how often we overlook this powerful tool. Breath is something we all have access to, yet we rarely harness it with intention. Natalia spoke about the importance of tuning in, really listening to your own body and self, for answers and guidance, especially when life feels overwhelming.

She shared how in moments when fear and uncertainty are at their peak. Rather than spiraling into panic, we can pause, close our eyes, and focus on our breath. In that stillness, we can find clarity, a calm knowing that can carry us through the difficult days.

Breathwork is about more than just calming down in stressful moments. It’s a practice that can unlock deeper self-awareness, heal past wounds, and help you navigate life’s storms with more grace. Whether you're dealing with a major health crisis, the daily grind, or simply trying to juggle all that life throws at you, breathwork is a tool that can keep you grounded.

Personally, since my cancer scare, I’ve started incorporating more intentional breathing into my own routine, and it has transformed my perspective. Instead of rushing through my day, I take moments to stop, breathe deeply, and reconnect with myself. This small practice has made a huge difference in my mental clarity and emotional balance.

If you’ve never tried breathwork, I encourage you to start small. Close your eyes, take a deep inhale through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this a few times and notice how your body feels—more relaxed, more at peace.

Natalia reminded me, and I hope to remind you: your breath is your most reliable guide. In the chaos, it brings calm. In uncertainty, it brings clarity. You have the answers within you—sometimes, you just need to breathe to hear them.
